Problem: To learn the basics of bookbinding
Having run out of room on my bookshelves, I decided I needed to make more room. So I went with the best way possible- learning bookbinding so I could bind all of the material sitting around in 3-ring binders and eliminate the space taken up by their covers.
I ended up binding a nice selection of loose-leaf textbooks, class notes, and a few scripts from theater shows I worked on. I used a double-fan binding technique which used only materials I already had. The end result looked better than a bunch of binders, took up about half as much space, and were able to lay flat on the table.
A pair of formerly loose-leaf textbooks.
